Respect for All

Respect for All offers specialist, humanistic mental wellbeing support services for autistic people and their families and carers living in Greater Manchester.

From 1st April 2026, Respect for All’s NHS autism services are commissioned by NHS Greater Manchester.

Who can refer:
-
We accept self-referrals and referrals from health professionals.
-
If you are a GP or Talking Therapies practitioner and you have worked with us in the past to help evidence the need for our services (e.g. providing us with clinical rationale letters for spot purchase / individual funding request (IFR) processes), please note this is no longer required. You can simply put a referral in via this website and we will triage the referral.

We provide:
-
One-to-one counselling & coaching and group support for adults aged 16+
-
Whole-family counselling support for:
-
families with children under 16
-
families with young people under 25 who have complex needs
-
Eligibility criteria
-
Please note that we are not a crisis or urgent care mental health service.
-
To access our NHS-funded services, you must have an autism diagnosis or be on a recognised diagnostic pathway (via your GP, the NHS, or a private provider).
-
Autistic people with co-occurring conditions, such as ADHD or learning disabilities, are also able to access our services.
-
We also support parents and carers of autistic people.
-
We offer a range of services and you can access more than one. After your assessment with us, we will discuss the best service options with you to best meet your needs.

Please see our 'Counselling Services’ page and ‘Group Services’ page to find out more about our services. To access our services, you will need to complete our referral form, which can be completed via the link on either the counselling or group services pages. Please note - we do not accept referrals via email.

General Information
Our team of specialists delivers a range of therapeutic approaches tailored to meet individual needs. These may include (but are not limited to): person-centred therapy, integrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, trauma-informed approaches, family systems therapy, executive functioning coaching, psychoeducation, play therapy, neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and non-verbal and art therapy.

We work with everything from low to mid-level support needs, such as anxiety and depression, to more complex, multi-layered support needs which might include dual-diagnosis, trauma, abuse, eating disorders, self harm or PTSD.
Our counsellors are either qualified self-employed counsellors or are student counsellors on placement with us in their final year of study. All students have passed their competency to practice assessment, conducted by their College or University.

Long term support needs clients and people with learning disabilities
Our charity has historically also supported people with complex needs who require long-term support, as well as people with learning disabilities who are not autistic. However, we do not currently have formal funding in place for this work. If you are referring someone who may require long-term ongoing support, or someone with a learning disability, please be aware that we may need to work with you to explore options for securing funding, for example through the individual’s social care plan. Please email us or complete a referral form, and we will be in touch to discuss this further.
Please note that we are not a crisis / urgent need service. If you are experiencing anything that significantly puts you at immediate risk (significant self-harm, suicide attempt/abuse), you should call 111 and select the mental health option 2 / contact emergency services on 999 or go to A&E / contact your local mental health crisis team. You can also speak to your GP or support services like Samaritans.
